Slavery worksheet used in Pittsford class came from online lesson source. So we bought the lesson

PITTSFORD, N.Y. (WHEC)  Wednesday News10NBC tried to get to the bottom of the controversial lesson plan on slavery that was used in a Pittsford fourth grade class.
A similar plan was used in a class in Webster two months ago.
So Wednesday we purchased lesson plans from the same source the teachers used. 
The lesson that one Pittsford teacher gave to her fourth-grade class.
The lesson plan on Colonial Life wasn t available to buy. 
We could not locate any worksheet or lesson plan that was remotely similar to the ones used in Pittsford and Webster. The company that produced them told us they changed the language.  ....

Current research points to poverty itself as the cause of negative outcomes for poor children, not associated problems such as poor nutrition, low levels of parental education, poor schools, or crime-ridden neighborhoods. Systemic racism in the form of wage, education, and housing inequities contributes directly to poverty and a direct assault on systemic racism needs to redress poverty as well as the causes of poverty. Across Monroe County, students will soon have anti-racist lessons

Last May, after George Floyd was killed in police custody and nationwide protests for social justice began, East High School Superintendent Shaun Nelms challenged his colleagues across Monroe County to teach students about Rochester s history of segregation and disparity.
I would also say that the death of Daniel Prude in Rochester was also a reminder that this work is critically important, Nelms added, referring to the man who died last March after Rochester police restrained him.
Nelms vision will materialize this spring when eighth, 11th, and 12th-grade students in every district in the county will receive the same anti-racist classroom lessons. ....
