In fundraising, individual donations are considered the holy grail and grants are fool’s gold. Grants don’t get a lot of respect even though they’re integral to most nonprofit budgets. You’ve heard the complaints or made them yourself: Grants have a short life span. They come and go. You can’t spend the money flexibly. The red tape and reporting requirements are extreme. The time lapse between request and award decision is excessive.
The role of grant funding in the nonprofit sector far outpaces the rate of individual giving. The National Philanthropic Trust’s general philanthropy data in 2019 showed that corporate grants totaled $21.09 billion and foundation grants totaled $75.69 billion. USAspending.gov reports that federal grants totaled almost $765 billion that year, and that doesn’t count billions of dollars in government grants made by state, county, and municipal funds amassed from taxes, fi ....

Most sectors in Hong Kong have been battered by the ongoing impact of the pandemic for the past 12–15 months, and the public relations industry – and those working in it – is no exception.
In the most recent Hong Kong Public Relations & Communications Industry Salary & Benefit Survey, one-quarter of respondents (25%) said that they had experienced a pay freeze, while one-fifth were subject to a pay cut of up to 30% or unpaid leave up to 14 days per month.
There has also been concerning reports of some firms flouting the conditions of the Employment Support Scheme (ESS). ....

Survey: Holmes County wages comparable to businesses around the state

MILLERSBURG The workforce of Holmes County is paid comparably to other similar businesses throughout the state. And the good news is, those wages continue to trend upward.
Those are two of the findings from a 43-page Wage and Benefit Survey completed for the Holmes County Economic Development Council (HCEDC), according to Executive Director Mark Leininger.
Six job classifications were surveyed: production workers, transportation and material moving workers, business and financial operations personnel, office and administrative support staff, health care practitioners and food service/restaurant and lodging personnel.
The majority of the businesses that responded to the survey have been in operation more than 20 years and employ fewer than 50 people. ....
