Caithness Macular Society Support Group s monthly mix of music and song is generating fantastic camaraderie across the Highlands and Islands, according to local Highland councillor Willie Mackay.
He was among those taking part in the group s latest virtual ceilidh, linking up people from Caithness, Sutherland, Shetland and Skye through a teleconference call.
The event was again hosted by the local sight-loss group s chairman, Eric Farquhar, from the kitchen of his home in Loch Street, Wick. ....

Caithness civic leader Willie Mackay has broken through the 100,000 barrier with online views of his first spoon-playing session of 2021.
Willie s Tunes on the Spoons have become an online hit since he started sharing his cheery musical accompaniments on social media last May.
On Saturday he gave a New Year selection of Scottish melodies in front of a roaring log fire in his cottage at Oldhall, Watten. ....

Anchor man Eric Farquhar hosted another successful macular group virtual ceilidh.
Caithness Macular Society Support Group has held another resoundingly successful get-together featuring a mix of music and song â all of it performed remotely.
Thursday s virtual session followed on from the first macular group teleconference ceilidh hosted from Skye on Wednesday.
