March has brought both sorrow and salvation for Jeremy Puckett.
Consider his history: On March 14, 2002, Puckett, then 25, was sentenced to life in prison for a murder he didn’t commit. The victim’s body had been discovered on a Rancho Cordova (Sacramento County) road four years earlier, to the date. Puckett proclaimed his innocence for two decades, but justice true justice didn’t come until March 13, 2020.
On that date, Puckett stepped through a hidden door into a cage in a downtown Sacramento courtroom. He wore street clothes and the half-haggard, half-wired look of a man lacking sleep. Through bars, Puckett saw family and friends packed tight on the benches of the low-slung gallery. He saw a grown daughter and son who were just toddlers when sheriff’s deputies arrested him 19 years earli ....

Detectives from Knox Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance following an attempted burglary which occurred in Bayswater last month.
Officers have been told a man attended a residential address on Victoria Road about 7.35pm on 9 February.
He looked into the property through a front window and then attempted to gain entry by shoulder charging the front door.
He was unsuccessful in his attempts and left the property.
The offender was last seen heading towards Scoresby Road.
He is perceived to be Caucasian, 30 to 40-years-old, bald, bearded and with a large tattoo on his right arm. ....

SALISBURY, N.C. (WBTV) - Salisbury Police Department (SPD) has appointed Officer Isaac Miller and Officer Alexandria Petty to serve as School Resource Officers (SROs).
Officer Miller will serve as the SRO at Knox Middle School, and will work with students in grades sixth through eighth. He has been with the Salisbury Police Department since 2015. Since serving at SPD, Miller has been a Gang Resistance Education and Training (G.R.E.A.T) instructor, led G.R.E.A.T summer camps and the Salisbury Police Department Cadets leadership program. ....

According to the Airbnb listing, the caboose, known as 616R, was built in 1917.  It served the Central Maine Railroad for 75 years before being retired in 1992.  It is 40 feet long, ways 22 tons, and now sits on its own set of tracks.
For those who don’t know, the caboose was traditionally the last car of every freight train.  They were used as offices and sleeping quarters for the train crews.  However, occasionally, non-crew would ride in the caboose.  In fact, according to this story, President Abraham Lincoln was a fan of riding in the cabooses of the trains on which he rode. ....
