WORCESTER The Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 70th year of admission-free performances in Institute Park with two free concerts July 11 and 18. The concerts have stood the test of time,  said Paul Levenson, executive director of the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra will have something else to celebrate July 11. After being shut down for over a year by the pandemic, MSO will be performing again for the first time since 2019.

WORCESTER The Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 70th year of admission-free performances in Institute Park with two free concerts July 11 and 18. The concerts have stood the test of time,  said Paul Levenson, executive director of the Massachusetts Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra will have something else to celebrate July 11. After being shut down for over a year by the pandemic, MSO will be performing again for the first time since 2019. Here we are, we ve been able to survive the pandemic and this is our time back in Worcester with two summer concerts, Levenson said. We re excited about it to have all the musicians perform together and to get back into the community.

Former Worcester chamber president Richard Dick Kennedy dies at 80 Telegram & Gazette Staff Kennedy was also a former top executive with Norton Co. and Saint-Gobain in Worcester. Kennedy served as president and CEO of the Worcester chamber for nine years, from 2004 to 2013. “Dick was a true champion for Worcester and the region’s business community during his tenure as Chamber President and CEO. He led this organization through some challenging times and prepared it for future growth,” said Worcester Chamber President and CEO Tim Murray. Kennedy’s support didn’t stop when he retired from the chamber, Murray said. He continued to stay active in the community in a variety of ways.
