Feb 13, 2021 Marlene Zoller Rust passed away at home on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, after a courageous battle with lung cancer with her family by her side. Marlene was born on January 12, 1953, in Gloversville, NY, to Eugene Zoller and Ruth Morrison Zoller. Marlene began her career at St. Claire’s Hospital in Schenectady as a Radiology Technician but retired from Sunmount DDSO after nearly 30 years. She was also employed by various restaurants in the community through the years. Marlene loved all animals but was especially interested in the welfare of wild animals and spent over a decade as a wildlife rehabilitator. She was very active in the community in various volunteer roles and never missed a chance to help out wherever she was needed. She also enjoyed birdwatching, flowers, exercising her patriotic spirit, gardening, reading, crocheting, sewing, baking, cooking for friends and family, and she especially enjoyed monarch butterflies and preserving their natural ha ....
Feb 12, 2021 Harry G. Stephens, age 93, a resident of the town of Hopem, died Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at the Wells House Nursing Home in Johnstown. He was born in Gloversville, NY, on August 4 1927, the son of the late Harry and Bertha Knapp Stephens. Harry was a United States Army veteran serving in Japan during WW II. He received the WW II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He married Leona P. Edwards on February 14, at the Batchellerville Church, who predeceased him in 2011. Survivors include his favorite son, Gary Stephens (Deb) of Northville; daughters, Nancy Sauve (Andy) of Northville, Pat Curry of Johnstown, Janet Bunn of Gloversville and Susan Adams (Dave) of Northville. Several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive him. ....
Jan 7, 2021 Grace Bruner Lord, 95, formerly of Northville, passed away peacefully on January 1, from complications due to COVID-19 in Moreau, NY. Grace was born on February 21, 1925, in Monroe, Virginia, to James Willis and Claudine Joyner Bruner. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce; brothers, J. Cooley, Arthur, Albert; and sister, Anne Bruner Woo. Grace graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1941 and from Phillips Secretarial College in Lynchburg, VA in 1942. She then went to work in Washington, D.C. as a clerk-stenographer in the Department of the Army. She met Bruce (a Sergeant in the Army) when they were both stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, and were married there in July 1952. They returned to the U.S. in 1953 and resided in Schenectady, Chestertown, and Northville. ....
