Proposal to use Oakland Coliseum as vaccination site advances

The Oakland Coliseum could become a massive coronavirus vaccination site possibly as soon as February.
The commission that governs the complex agreed to form a task force Friday that will determine the details of how and when vaccines can be distributed at the Coliseum.
Oakland Athletics President Dave Kaval said during the meeting of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority that the venue could be ready for vaccinations by February, and possibly sooner.

The commission has received several requests from health care providers to work on plans to use the expansive, 155-acre complex as a large vaccine site, the Coliseum Authority’s Executive Director Henry Gardner said. ....
