Portland legend Bud Lewis dies at 100
Former police officer dedicated his life to the charitable Sunshine Division.
Leland Bud Lewis, who spent much of his 100 years working with the Portland Police Bureau s charitable Sunshine Division, died Sunday, Feb. 21.
After serving in World War II, Lewis joined the Portland Police Bureau and worked with the Sunshine Division for the last 58 years, including his last 10 bureau years as commander.
Last spring Lewis walked 100 laps at Duniway Park to raise money for the Sunshine Division. On Aug. 8, he turned 100.
