You have probably never considered stocking up on wine from either Swansea or St Helens. Both are on Tasmania’s Great Eastern Wine Trail, one of four in Australia’s island state. 
Tassie, the “Apple Isle”, is also home to the Tamar Valley wine road, the East Coast route and the Cradle Coast region, which boasts Ghost Rock, one of the premium Tasmanian wines featured in The Vinorium’s £178.95 “Discover Tasmania” wine case.
The Vinorium, based in Lenham in Kent, was originally formed as the retail division of Z&B Vintners, a Bordeaux specialist. In 2017, it started importing directly from wine producers Down Under and has become the UK’s leading Australian wine specialist. ....

The Tasmanian wine industry is paying tribute to former Coal River Valley winemaker Peter Althaus who died last week in Switzerland.
Peter and his wife Ruth moved to Tasmania three decades ago, buying the Stoney Vineyard and founding Domaine A.
He has been remembered as a generous man who saw potential in Tasmania s wine industry before it received global recognition.

WELL known Mornington Peninsula vigneron and restaurateur Margaret Crittenden died at George Vowell Aged Care facility on Thursday, 26 November. She was 78. Her funeral service was held at Tobin Brothers, Mt. Martha, on Friday, 4 December. Her husband, Garry, compiled the eulogy on which this obituary is based.

Marg, as she was generally known, was an only child, born at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Hospital, East Melbourne, to Jack and Marion Down, on 18 October 1942. Jack, a trained accountant, originally from Warrnambool, met Marion in the late 1930’s while he was working at the Onkaparinga Woollen Mills near Adelaide. Marion was born and raised in Adelaide. After marrying in 1941, the couple moved to Melbourne. ....
