When empowered, communities can support and advocate for their needs on behalf of themselves, a function that is vital to successful emergency response.
There is ample evidence that community engagement is vital for containing epidemics, as the COVID-19 pandemic has once again showcased. As the crisis unfolded, it became clear that countries increasingly understand the importance of shifting from solely focusing on providing information to communities to establishing two-way communications and accountability systems with and for them. This paper reviews existing evidence on community engagement in the context of disease outbreaks, provides examples of community engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic, explores successes and challenges of these efforts, and offers lessons learned to strengthen community resilience during future outbreaks. Cheyenne - Wyoming Game and Fish Department wildlife managers say steady gray wolf populations and conflict trends indicate Wyoming has reached a stable point around the state’s wolf population objective. According to the 2020 Wyoming Gray Wolf Monitoring and Management annual report, Wyoming is maintaining wolf numbers at healthy levels using hunting, which also helps hold conflict numbers at bay.
Established population objectives for wolves are outlined in the Wyoming Gray Wolf Management Plan. That plan guides wolf management in Wyoming and is the plan the state will continue to implement following the 5-year post delisting monitoring period. Recovery criteria for Wyoming is 100 wolves and 10 breeding pairs outside Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Reservation. ....

Islamabad : Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam has said that the incumbent government is taking all-out coping measures to address deleterious impacts of global climate crisis on the country’s socio-economic sectors for achieving environmental and economic sustainability.
In a press statement issued here on Sunday, he explained that the measures being taken under the Prime Minister s world-acclaimed vision for Clean Green Pakistan include nation-wide massive tree plantation and protection activities, promotion of renewable energy, shelving of coal-based energy projects, promotion of electric vehicles, mass transit system, establishment of new national parks and protection of the existing ones and launch of US$ 500 million green euro bond for overall ecosystem restoration in the country. ....
