PUBS, cafes and restaurants have finally been able to reopen their doors for the first time this year.
From today (Monday), Scotland entered Level 3 coronavirus restrictions, which meant that hospitality venues were able to reopen and start serving food and drink once more.
It might have been a cloudy and windy day but that did not stop customers from enjoying their first meal or pint of the year.
The current rules state that hospitality venues can reopen both their indoor and outdoor spaces.
The rules indoors state that food can be served with non-alcoholic drinks until 8pm. People can gather in groups of six people from two households. ....

Restaurant owners call 2020 a year they will never forget


RESTAURANT owners in East Lothian have described 2020 as a year they will never forget.
Level 4 coronavirus restrictions came into force across Scotland from Boxing Day, with pubs and restaurants closing their doors.
Takeaways can operate as normal – with face coverings being worn and social distancing rules being followed.
The move to Level 4 is expected to be reviewed in a week’s time, with hopes that restrictions can be relaxed some time next month.
Jack Findlay, who took over Dirleton’s Castle Inn at the beginning of the year, was trying to stay positive.
Mr Findlay, whose dad Jim previously ran The Drovers Inn in East Linton and The Rocks on Dunbar’s Marine Road, said ahead of being open on Christmas Day: “There is no alcohol and that is obviously a big part of Christmas as well but the people that are coming to see us will enjoy themselves with a drink afterwards. ....

Rutherford brothers threatened bar staff after being told to wear a face mask

TWO county brothers who refused to wear face masks in a Dunbar pub and shouted homophobic abuse at police officers have avoided a jail sentence.
Barry Rutherford, 30, and Lee Rutherford, 28, threatened bar staff at two pubs in East Lothian after they had been asked to cover up while inside the premises and refused service.
The pair were told they were not being served at The Eagle Inn in Dunbar due to their behaviour and, after being asked to leave, Barry Rutherford told one worker: “F off, I’ll remember your face”.
The brothers then went to The Golf Tavern in Haddington, seeking a room for the night. ....
