In a move that has been anticipated for a while, Unesco, citing years of development for an “irreversible loss” to the historic value of its Victorian docks have removed Liverpool s waterfront of its World Heritage Site status. Following a secret ballot
at the latest session of the World Heritage Committee China today, the heritage body declared that the “outstanding universal value” of Liverpool s Maritime Mercantile City has been irrevocably compromised by new construction, including plans for Everton s new 52,000-seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.
The decision is seen by many as a blow for the city s prestige and tourism, particularly as Liverpool is only the third place to lose World Heritage Status in nearly 50 years while others have long regarded Unesco and the heritage site designation as holding bac

I haven t actually spoken with the manager, but a member of staff checked the bookings and it didn t coincide with anything else, so should be all okay to go.
This one will be slightly different apart from the hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as all the previous meetings have coincided with a home match and usually an early kick-off. Those attending the match dropping in after, and those without tickets having the luxury of watching the match with a beer before the rest arrived.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin s latest injury comeback continued today as he scored in a behind-closed-doors practice match with Blackburn Rovers at USM Finch Farm.
The Ivorian midfielder has endured a nightmare time at Everton following his £23m move from Mainz in 2019, suffering a serious quad muscle injury shortly after making his debut, rupturing his Achilles just when he was due to return in the spring before injuring his knee in training after just one match back earlier this year.
Fit again and hoping to finally get his Everton career off the ground as the 2021-22 campaign draws near, Gbamin scored the only goal against Rovers.
