Nelson celebrates end of long year in style with very Kiwi Santa Parade

Fifty colourful floats, the all conquering Tasman Mako and enthusiastic crowds made for a memorable Nelson Santa parade on Sunday.
After a difficult year, Nelson families welcomed the chance to don Santa hats and cheer on the sidelines of Nelson s Santa Parade.
Despite being organised at the last minute, the Sunday afternoon event was twice the size of last year’s event, with 50 floats making their way down Trafalgar St.

A cheer rose from the crowd as Santa, escorted by his elves, made his appearance in central Nelson on Sunday afternoon.
Included in the line-up were musical favourites the Sambassadors, classic tractors from Pigeon Valley Steam Museum, zumba dancers, vintage cars from Nelson Classic Car Museum, storm troopers and a float from the Post Boy Hotel. ....
