Cash crunch on climate action created by cancelled CARIP

Communities across B.C. relied on the program, and the program was cancelled with no advance notice from the province.
Despite an emphasis on climate action strategies and projects across B.C. the province has elected to drop one of the main municipal climate action program sources of funding.
The province has discontinued the Climate Action Revenue Incentive Program (CARIP), a provincial climate action program that provided municipal government with funds to further their climate goals (as long cities reported their emissions and reported on how they used the funds). ....

KBPA Commissions Massive 'KBRH Gratitude Mural' to Lift Spirits at KBRH

The KBRH Gratitude Mural will be painted on the North and West Walls of the back entrance at KBRH Trail, also visible from the patient and staff car park. The Kootenay Boundary Physicians Association (KBPA) has commissioned a massive mural to be painted on the north and west wall at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) Trail by local Kootenay muralist Tyler Toews of Canadian Murals. The idea, which grew from the positive energy of last year’s Gratitude Garden installation, will flourish throughout May 2021 on the hospital’s back entrance. ....

In downtown Nelson, British Columbia, just outside of Nelson City Hall, about a dozen of red dresses currently hang from tree branches leading up to the main building: off-the-shoulder maxi dresses, minidresses, and long-sleeve styles.
The bright red hues cannot be missed and hang on trees with a purpose.
The REDress Project is part of Jaime Black’s art series project that was inspired by a demonstration she saw in Columbia where relatives of missing women wore red dresses to remember loved ones. ....
