NEGAUNEE — Progress continues to be made on the Historic Vista Theater in downtown Negaunee after its roof collapsed last August.
The Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council, the nonprofit organization that owns and operates the theater, said “winterizing” of the building is complete.
“We had promised right after the roof collapsed that we would be getting the debris out of the building and then shoring up the walls for protection from the wind and have temporary walls put up to protect the stage area and the balcony and lobby,” said PAAC board president Rusty Bowers. “Those are all in place.”

Toni Jo Terzaghi | News, Sports, Jobs - The Mining Journal

Toni Jo Terzaghi
MICHIGAMME, MI – Toni Jo Terzaghi, age 59, of 173 Tan Road Michigamme, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, while in the loving care of her family and the Upper Peninsula Home Health and Hospice.
Toni was born in Sault Ste. Marie, MI on May 1, 1961, a daughter of the late Theresa (Scopilliti) and Alton Conrad, III; She was a graduate of the Negaunee High School. Toni worked as a Field Representative for the United States Census Bureau for 17 years.
Toni loved the lord and served in many different ministries in the area. Her heart was particularly in women’s ministry, and she loved to bring women together in different avenues. Always with a spiritual emphasis, she included time spent in nature and creative activities. She loved the UP, and lived life like a tourist. Living on Lake Michigamme was a dream she woke up to every day. Other than her faith, nothing was more near and dear to her heart than her family. Winters were spent quilting, traveling, and enjoying hockey weekends. Summers were full of jumping off the dock, cookouts, and campfires. True to her Italian heritage there was always too much food, lots of laughter and possibly a fight or two. Though her time was cut short, she used her time wisely with the people she loved the most.
