Initially, people were sceptical about taking the vaccine doses but the courage showed by nurse Runu Veronica Costa helped change the outlook. I sincerely congratulate her and now, by the grace of God, we have no more problems. People are eagerly arriving (at vaccine centres) to be inoculated.” ....

More than 900,000 people have received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Bangladesh in seven days since the mass inoculation began on Feb 7.

On Sunday, the health workers administered over 169,000 doses across the country, according to the Directorate General of Health Services or DGHS.
At the 47 hospitals in Dhaka, nearly 23,000 people took the jab on Sunday, with Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University administering the highest number of 1,324. ....

Hume City Council has responded to the impacts of COVID-19 with a strategic COVID-19 Recovery and Reactivation Plan.
The plan has a focus on the next 12 months with the aim of supporting the community to reconnect, aiding in social recovery, and accelerating economic recovery of businesses, employment, and local investment.
COVID-19 has significantly impacted individuals, families, community groups and businesses in the City of Hume. The Hume community recorded 1,660 COVID-19 cases from March to November 2020, with a peak of 585 cases in August.
