Noida villages demand piped gas supply | Noida News


Noida: Residents of some 79 Noida villages have demanded piped natural gas (PNG) connection just like in residential sectors in place of LPG cylinders that are currently provided across the rural areas of the district. At a meeting with IGL officials in Rohillapur village of Sector 132 on Monday, the Noida Village Residents Association (NOVRA) put forward their demands, citing higher LPG prices as well as tampered cylinders versus a PNG connection. Of the 81 villages in Noida, only Shahpur in Sector 128 and Bishanpura in Sector 58 have PNG gas connections.
“The remaining 79 villages of Noida have LPG cylinder system. These are mostly supplied underweight or tampered with as gas is taken out from them and filled into smaller cylinders by the suppliers and sold in black in the open market,” said Ranjan Tomar, president of NOVRA. “Hence, we have requested MLA Pankaj Singh to schedule a meeting with the Noida Authority on this.” While a memorandum was given to MLA Singh d ....

COVID-19: Ambulance rates capped in Noida
The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Saturday fixed an cap on rates charged by ambulances during the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said. “People can lodge a complaint on helpline number 18004192211 or 112 if they are overcharged by the ambulance service provider,” District Magistrate Suhas LY said in official order.
According to the order, any ambulance without oxygen support will charge not more than Rs 1,000 for a maximum 10 km and Rs 100 for every km thereafter.
Ambulances with oxygen support can charge a maximum of Rs 1,500 for 10 km and thereafter, Rs 100 per km, it stated.
Those with ventilator or Bi-pap support can charge Rs 2,500 for 10 km and thereafter, Rs 200 per km, it added. ....
