New Jersey Herald ANDOVER TOWNSHIP The hearing for a proposed Copart vehicle storage facility in the township, initially scheduled more than a year ago, faces another delay. The Land Use Board deemed the newest application incomplete. The board s unanimous vote on Tuesday was based on the recommendation of township engineer Cory Stoner, who detailed his findings during a completeness review for the property on Stickles Pond Road. One of Stoner s main concerns with the Copart and BHT Properties Group application was the environmental impact statement. The engineer said the statement was a little light, and the partner companies did not address at great length the effect the application will have on the Pequest River that runs near the property. ....
Three other roads, Halsey-Myrtle Grove Road, Glenwood-Martin Station Road and a section of Route 521 in Hampton Township, were completed last fall. The sections of county roads chosen for repaving each year are completed by the county s Division of Public Works or Division of Engineering based on a rating system of road conditions and the capital funds available each fiscal year. Route selection is predicated upon a conditional assessment and rating completed by the Sussex County Division of Engineering and/or Sussex County Division of Public Works. In that cube, with binoculars pressed to his eyes, Nick Valerio can see for miles and miles around him. He, just like the fire watch observers in the other 20 watchtowers throughout New Jersey, is on the lookout for the telltale plumes of smoke from wildfires. It s a very, very important job up here in the tower, Valerio said as he looked around. The Robbinsville Township Fire Department was called to the house fire on Randolph Drive, near Buford Road, just after 8pm. When they arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed. Thankfully, the Levering family was not home at the time, and there were no injuries reported from the devastating fire.
