EPCHS Student Missing Since Friday, Police Seek Public's Help

UPDATE: The teen has been located and reunited with her family.
Evergreen Park police are looking for a teen who has been missing since Friday. Nkechi Onyebuagu, 14, was last seen around 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at or near the Evergreen Park Public Library, 9400 S. Troy Ave. She may be in the company of an older black male.
A man ordered an Uber for Nkechi to take her to 2101 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, from the library.

Nkechi attends Evergreen Park Community High School. She is black, and was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, gray leggings, dark blue Crocs and gold framed glasses. The teen was last known to have a short Afro, but may have recently changed her hairstyle. ....

EVERGREEN PARK, IL Neighbors are planning a surprise car parade for an Evergreen Park resident who is leaving for Army boot camp next week. The parade for 18-year-old Jack Novak is set for Jan. 18. Jack will be leaving for boot camp the next day.
Brittney DeMik is coordinating the details. She says the parade is a surprise, but Jack isn t a social media guy and gave us permission to promote the parade. Participants will meet at 3:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at Evergreen Park Community High School, 9901 S. Kedzie Ave. The parade will start heading to Jack s house at 3:30 p.m. Bring an American flag or deck your car in a patriotic theme. Please RSVP with Brittney at demik.brittney@gmail.com. ....

Congratulations to Evergreen Park Community High School junior Matthew Summers who has been chosen to participate in the 2021 ILMEA (Illinois Music Education Association) All-State Honors Chorus! Students from across the state were selected through an audition process as a representation of the best musicians in each of the nine Illinois Music Education Association districts. Matt will participate in the Illinois Music Education Conference January 27-30, 2020 in Peoria, Illinois
