Green Ribbon Campaign takes over downtown | Orangeville Citizen

A local woman is turning downtown Orangeville green through her organ and tissue donation awareness campaign for “BeADonor” month.
For the past three years now, Amaranth Lions Club member, Michelle White, with the help of her fellow Lions, has displayed green ribbons on lamp posts and trees along Broadway, which is a symbol of support for organ donation.
This year, Orangeville businesses have gotten on board and are displaying the green ribbons in their windows, with some of them including personal messages of support. Dufferin OPP and paramedics are participating as well.
The campaign was started in 2017 by White’s father, a heart transplant recipient who wanted to pay forward his gift of life by encouraging others to register for organ donation. ....

Green Park research: No black CEOs, chairs or CFOs at FTSE 100 companies

The number of black leaders at FTSE 100 companies has fallen to zero, according to research from executive recruitment and diversity consultancy agency Green Park, whose annual Business Leaders Index recorded no black chairs, CEOs or CFOs for the first time since it began running its reports in 2014.
According to its latest research, which examined the backgrounds of 6,172 individuals in total as of December 2020, only ten out of 297 of employees in these top three roles have ethnic minority backgrounds.

$50,000 is going towards supporting the health of the Great Lakes, as part of a Michigan-Ontario initiative.
It’s called the Lake Huron Forever Initiative and it aims to advance Lake Huron water quality protection and healthy sustainable communities on both sides of the lake.
It was developed by community foundation and conservation partners from the United States and Canada.
Locally, the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation has received $10,000 to support its Green Ribbon Champion program, which is a restoration and stewardship program that provides advice, support, and resources to shoreline residents. ....
