Arvind Limbavali – recently-appointed by the government to monitor the functioning of the war room that attend to calls from covid-19 patients – has blamed
nodal officers in-charge of different hospitals for the mismatch in the bed availability on the central hospital bed management system (CHBMS) and in hospitals. He promised to sort the issue out soon.
After finding vacant
beds on BBMP’s CHBMS portal, many have been heading to the hospitals only to find that all beds are occupied. This, besides taking away lots of precious hours, has been causing panic among patients and their family members. ....

CM assigns pandemic management duties to senior Cabinet ministers
Karnataka has decided to import 5 lakh vials of Remdesivir by calling a short-term tender, to tackle the issue of drug shortage.
A decision to this effect was taken at the first meeting of the Covid Task Force, held on Tuesday, chaired by Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwathanarayan.
The ministerial task force also decided to fulfil the demand of private hospitals to hike charges and has decided to increase the cost given to oxygenated beds by ₹1,000 per day, ICU bed without ventilator by ₹1,250 per day, and ICU bed with ventilator by ₹1,500 per day. The charges for non-critical care will remain the same at ₹5,200 per day. ....

Show-cause notice to six private hospitals in Thiruvananthapuram | Thiruvananthapuram News

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The district administration issued a show-cause notice to six private hospitals for not allotting 50% beds for Covid treatment on Tuesday.
District disaster management authority has communicated that if the hospital fails to furnish a satisfactory explanation, action under the Epidemic Disease Ordinance and Disaster Management Act will be taken against the hospital management.
The private hospitals were earlier directed to allot 50% of beds for Covid treatment owing to soaring number of cases in the district.
Deputy collector disaster management G K Suresh Kumar said that some of the hospitals failed to comply with the directive following which the show-cause notice was issued. ....
