PROBLEM. MICHAEL NEEMANN RECEIVED QUITE THE SURPRISE WHEN HE DECIDED TO LOOK UP THE STATUS OF HIS STIMULUS CHECK. MY WIFE WENT AND LOOKED AND IT SHOWED OUR FIRST STIMULUS CHECK AND THE ACCOUNT IT WENT TO AND THE SECOND ONE AND WHERE THAT WENT TO. AND IT’S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO OUR ACCOUNT NUMBER. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO LISA SABER. IT CAME UP WITH TWO BOXES. THE FIRST BOX SHOWED THE FIRST STIMULUS PAYMENT AND THAT IT WENT INTO MY BANK ACCOUNT. WHICH WAS THE CORRECT NUMBER. THEN THERE WAS A SECOND BOX SAID THE SECOND ONE WENT INTO THIS ACCOUNT NUMBER. BUT IT WAS THE WRONG ACCOUNT. AFTER FAILED ATTEMPTS TO REACH THE ....

Quirk delays stimulus checks for some who used tax preparers

SHREVEPORT, La. Some people who used tax preparation services may be some of the last to get their latest COVID-19 stimulus checks.
Reports around the country indicate that those who used a refund transfer to pay their tax preparation fees that is, they paid with their anticipated refund instead of up front could be delayed in getting stimulus checks.
That s what Melody Granger of Shreveport did through H&R Block. She was surprised when she tracked her payment through the IRS. It said her $1,200 deposit went to some bank account number that she did not recognize.
I was immediately stunned. Like, oh my gosh, where did it go? Who is this person? Granger said she wondered. ....

INDIANAPOLIS A lot of Hoosiers are expressing frustration right now, wondering why their second stimulus check hasn t arrived yet. Many of the problems are affecting people who used H&R Block to file their taxes last year.
The company confirmed the issue and said it s working on a fix to get people their money.
