By Noozhawk Editors | 9:00 p.m. Regarding Noozhawk’s June 29 article, “Homeless Encampment Residents Moving In to Santa Barbara’s Rose Garden Inn,” it seems that City Councilman Mike Jordan “doth protest too much” over the public having “lots of advice for us, very little of it legal, and a lot more of it doing nothing, except complaining.” This is not a new problem, as Jordan knows full well. If he and his fellow council members had been doing their jobs and acting in the best interests of ALL of the public, the public would be a lot more likely to give them the benefit of the doubt.

The stone arch bridge and “stegosaurus” were built in 1891. It survived the 1925 earthquake, and was widened in 1930. A pedestrian bridge was added nearby in 1929.

•        •        • I support the City of Santa Barbara’s proposed ban on gas connections in new construction. Kristen Miller raises various points in her commentary; most of them seem like vacuous reactions; others deserve some thought. Natural gas obviously creates CO2 when it burns. It is also a far worse greenhouse gas than CO2 when it leaks into the atmosphere, which it does, copiously. Miller sorta says she supports slowing down climate change, then says we shouldn’t really do anything about it. Stopping climate change is critical to our survival. It’s not just about local weather, although I respect that concern.
