Terramark Urban Homes recently bought nearly 5 acres for $1.8 million from the Brooks Development Authority and plans to construct 60 single-family homes. Prices will start at $270,000. ....

Despite what appears to be a steady decline in coronavirus transmission, officials say the virus is still circulating at high levels and poses a risk to residents.
The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District reported 860 new coronavirus cases Thursday 152 fewer than the previous day. The seven-day rolling average decreased slightly to 1,335 from 1,463 on Wednesday.
On Thursday, 1,081 people were hospitalized in Bexar County for COVID-19, a decrease from 1,127 the day before. ....

Former Air Force Base– Established as Brooks Field, in December of 1917, an Army Air Corps installation, it is one of the oldest facilities in the U.S. Air Force. Certainly not everyone in the Intensive Care Unit recovers during a “typical” month, but prior to the coronavirus pandemic, Patricia Scogin says there was always an expectation that
most patients would get better.
“There was some predictability,” says Scogin, an RN who will finish her second year as an intensive care nurse at Mission Trail Baptist Hospital in February. “With the exception of traumas, there were years and years of studies into the disease processes and we knew what interventions to do.”
With COVID-19, predictability is gone.
Scogin and her colleagues officially began treating COVID-19 patients in March, seeing a steady increase through the city’s peak in late July and continuing to provide care for patients through the fall. “It has really solidified that I need to have faith,” says Scogin. “Sometimes in the medical profession, we rely so heavily on science that we fo ....
