Check Point Software Technologies has put in place a quartet of seasoned go-to-market executives to fuel growth in the Americas and across the company’s channel organization.
The San Carlos, Calif.-based platform security vendor hired longtime VMware cloud sales leader Geoff Waters to oversee the company’s 750-person field sales operation in North America and Latin America. The company also made several moves in its partner organization, promoting Nisha Holt to Americas channel chief and bringing in iboss’ Erick Foy and Pulse Secure’s Coletta Vigh for other leadership roles. ....

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has reported first-quarter 2021 revenue of $6.8bn, down 2% year on year. Its Intelligent Edge grew by 12% to $806m, while its High Performance Compute & Mission Critical Systems (HPC & MCS) declined by 9% to $762m.

HPE tops Q1 estimates, raises guidance for fiscal year

The enterprise software player reported first quarter net income of $223 million, or 17 cents a share, on revenue of $6.8 billion, down 2% from a year ago. Excluding charges, HPE delivered earnings of 52 cents a share.
Analysts were expecting earnings of 41 cents per share on revenue of $6.72 billion. Shares of HPE were up slightly after hours.
Elsewhere on the balance sheet, HPE said compute revenue came to $3 billion, down 1% year over year. Storage revenue was $1.2 billion, down 5% year-over-year. Within that segment, Nimble revenue was up 31% and revenue from All Flash Array Storage products were up 5%.
Meanwhile, High Performance Compute & Mission Critical Systems (HPC & MCS) revenue was $762 million, down 9% from the prior-year period. ....
