Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said that the farmers determination to continue the protests till Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, speaks of their hopelessness with the Modi government.

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday reminded the Modi government to withdraw what he said were the ‘anti-agriculture law’, adding that the farmers’ decision to continue the agitation till Gandhi Jayanti speaks of their hopelessness with the Union government.
Taking to microblogging website Twitter, Gandhi said, “With the determination of the peasants and workers of the movement till Gandhi Jayanti, along with their determination, it is also clear how much hope they have with the Modi government. Quit arrogance, consider the suffering of Satyagrahi farmers and withdraw the anti-agricultural law!” ....

Centre puts Farm Laws on Hold for 18 months:- In a significant move, the Centre decided to put the introduced three farm laws on hold for the next 18 months after the farmers have been protesting against them. Several rounds of discussions failed completely and the farmers are not in a mood to make amendments. The Supreme Court too shocked the Centre recently and the farmers are all set for a massive protest on January 26th. The farmer unions refused to appear before the Supreme Court appointed experts committee. The Centre during their talks offered to form a joint committee of the government along with the farmer union representatives in it. ....

The Supreme Court Wednesday expressed strong displeasure over the aspersions cast by some farmers unions on members of the court-appointed committee to resolve the impasse over new farm laws and said it has not given any adjudicating authority to the panel.
The Centre, meanwhile, withdrew its petition seeking injunction against the proposed tractor rally by farmers on the Republic Day after the apex court said it was police matter. On the issue pertaining to the committee, a bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde said it had appointed experts in the panel as the judges are not experts on the subject. ....

New Delhi: The ninth round of talks between farmers and the central government remained conclusive on Friday. Three central ministers, including Narendra Singh Tomar, Railways, Commerce and Food Minister Piyush Goyal and Minister of State for Commerce Som Parkash and farmers unions on Friday committed held talks at Vigyan Bhawan to resolve the over-one-month-long deadlock over three agri laws. ....
