Louise Tezak Yerdon has always achieved what others haven t even considered.
Yerdon, a resident of the New York State Veterans Home at Oxford, was one of the first women to attend U.S. Army Basic Training. 
And as she celebrates her 100th birthday on Friday, Yerdon is the only survivor of the 400 female World War II veterans and trailblazers at the first WAAC Training Center at Fort Des Moines, Iowa, and her life s story was documented in a 2003 article in the Baldwinsville Messenger.
Yerdon s birthday is being celebrated at the home with a customized shirt declaring “The Queen Makes 100 Look Fabulous” as well as gifts of pajamas, stuffed animals and surprises. There will be cupcakes and ice cream for residents to share, along with a live guitar serenade. ....
