Four of the seven mass COVID-19 vaccination sites in Massachusetts will close by the end of June as the state moves into the next phase of the vaccine distribution process.
In a Monday press conference, Gov. Charlie Baker said the measure is part of a more targeted strategy focused on regional collaboratives, pharmacies and walk-up and mobile clinics that seeks to vaccinate more residents in disproportionately impacted communities.

The sites expected to close by the end of June are those at Gillette Stadium, the Hynes Convention Center, Natick Mall and Double Tree Hotel in Danvers. Baker said the closures are possible because the state is on track to reach its goal of vaccinating 4.1 million residents by June, calling it an incredible achievement. ....

Back in March, when most people hunched over laptops for hours, frantic to schedule a vaccine appointment, John Brenner got a phone call that made it all so easy.
It was his doctor, family physician Wayne Altman, inviting him in for a COVID-19 shot. On a Sunday morning, he drove 10 minutes to the doctor’s office in Arlington and received the vaccination in his car from a staff member he knew well. “It couldn’t have been easier,” said Brenner, a retired biology teacher who suffers from an anxiety disorder that makes it difficult to mingle with strangers. ....

OVER 700,000 Covid cases and 10,500 deaths and one year later, we are about to see another prolonged lockdown in Bangladesh. This means further social isolation associated with quarantine measures and added uncertainty at an already precarious moment in our lives. That being said, there seems to be little or no discussion about the mental health pandemic that is hitting young people at an all-time high. As Prothom Alo reported earlier this year, Bangladesh had recorded 70 percent more deaths from suicide than from the pandemic in the first year of the coronavirus outbreak. Almost half of the deceased were aged 20-35 years old, while 35 percent were aged 5-19, and 16 percent were aged 36-80. ....
