“Laugh, Cry, Pee, Repeat!,” a premiere by Patti Corsini Caroli, Carole Fenstermacher, and Natalie King, authors with life stories itching to be told. The church and graveyard are both on the National Register of Historic Places with the cornerstone of the church being placed in 1861 just as the Civil War broke out.
Jackmon has partnered with the Pennsylvania Hallowed Grounds Project, which is committed to raising awareness of the burial sites and legacies of American colored troops and other early black Pennsylvanians.
Through the Hallowed Grounds project, Mt. Zion was brought into contact Jason Herrmann, an anthropological archaeologist at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology and Anthropology. Specializing in the relationship between people and their environment in historical settings, Herrmann is mostly located in places like Turkey and the Middle East, but recently spent three days using geographic information science tools to explore Mt. Zion. ....

Marco Island Center for the Arts will present “The Gathering” a solo exhibition artist Juan Diaz. Diaz, a Naples resident, was born in Bogota, Columbia in 1981. He was the recipient of Southwest Florida 2013 FACE Award for Culture & Arts awarded by Gulfshore Life Business Magazine and the 1999 Porter Goss Award. “The Gathering” will be featured in Lauritzen and Rush Galleries Jan. 11- March 2.
