Burnham-On-Sea town centre pub set to re-open this month with new owners
Burnham-On-Sea pub The Old Pier Tavern is set to re-open this month under new management after being closed for 18 months.
The new landlords of the Old Pier Tavern in Burnham’s Pier Street says it will open on July 23rd. They plan to restore it as a live music venue featuring regular entertainment from local bands.
Landlord Lisa Humphrey told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have taken on the pub because it used to be a good night out and we want to restore it as a top live music venue.”

Burnham-On-Sea town centre shops and pubs see 'busy' re-opening day

Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge shops and businesses experienced a ‘busy, hectic’ re-opening day on Monday (April 12th) as lockdown restrictions eased and shoppers returned.
Burnham town centre saw queues of shoppers outside several shops during the morning as they opened for the first time since early January.
Burnham-On-Sea.com spoke to shoppers and shop owners to get their feedback on the long-awaited re-opening day.
Helen Adams at Crusty Cob bakery in Burnham High Street told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It was a busy day – it was so nice to see the town centre bustling with shoppers again. Everyone seemed to be a lot happier and the atmosphere was really positive.”

Burnham-On-Sea heritage group unveils new leaflet on town's pubs and hotels

A new Burnham-Sea history leaflet has been published, featuring the history of pubs and hotels past and present in the town.
It’s the latest in a series of new heritage trail leaflets launched in Burnham-On-Sea this year to bring the town’s history to life.
Burnham-On-Sea Heritage Group has published the free leaflets, supported by Burnham and Highbridge Town Council, featuring images of prominent landmarks and buildings, and comparing how they looked in the past compared to today, accompanied by their history.
Three leaflets were published in February and a new fourth leaflet has now been unveiled by the group featuring pubs and hotels.
