ST PAUL, Minn Governor Walz and other leaders are pledging to respect the rights of Minnesotans to protest the inauguration of Joe Biden, but at the same time they re cranking up security around the State Capitol between now and Inauguration Day.

Neighbors on the Rum owner defends his defiance decision


Neighbors on the Rum in Princeton faces a lawsuit from the state attorney general’s office and suspension of its liquor license after serving customers indoors in defiance of Gov. Tim Walz’s executive order banning indoor service.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced Dec. 17 his office had filed lawsuits against the Alibi Drinkery in Lakeville and Neighbors on the Rum in Dakota County and Mille Lacs County District Courts, respectively.
The state-based lawsuits were in response to both of the establishments opening up to large crowds on Wednesday, Dec. 16.

Minnesota suspends liquor licenses for 3 restaurants for coronavirus safety violations

Minnesota officials have notified three restaurants that they face a 60-day suspension of their liquor licenses for violating the governor’s coronavirus restrictions on indoor dining.
The Department of Public Safety s alcohol and gambling enforcement division notified the establishments on Saturday that they would face a hearing before a judge, after which their license may be reinstated.
The Cornerstone Café, The Interchange and The Pour House were all observed serving customers indoors in violation of Gov. Tim Walz’s executive order, the Star Tribune reported. The Cornerstone is in Monticello, The Interchange is in Albert Lea, and The Pour House is in Clarks Grove. ....
