New Delhi [India], March 14 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha MP and former National President of Rashtriya Kisan Morcha, Vijaypal Singh Tomar on Sunday slammed Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait saying that he will lose his security deposit a third time if he contests election.
Rakesh Tikait is playing in the hands of the opposition parties, he will come to know the reality if he contests the election. The same Rakesh Tikait has forfeited deposit in the elections twice previously and if he contests the election, this will be forfeited again, Vijaypal Singh Tomar told ANI. ....

Sambhaji Raje, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rajya Sabha MP from Kolhapur, and supporters of the Maratha Kranti Morcha on Saturday demanded the Maha Vikas Aghadi government to translate the Maharashtra State Backward Class Commission’s report into English.
The commission had recommended providing 12% reservation in education and 13% in government jobs for members of the Maratha community. Last year, the Supreme Court had ordered an interim stay on the Maratha reservation law.
The Supreme Court is set to hear pleas challenging the constitutional validity of the Maratha quota law under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes Act, 2018, from March 8 to 18. ....

Over 7,000 Indians jailed in foreign countries: Govt – The Munsif Daily


New Delhi, Feb 5 : The Central government has informed the Rajya Sabha about the number of Indian citizens jailed in foreign countries for various criminal offences.
Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, in response to an unstarred question asked in the Upper House, said a total of 7,139 Indian citizens are lodged in foreign jails. The government is providing them with legal options and other assistance through its embassies.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan, Kirori Lal Meena, had sought information about the Indian citizens lodged in jails in Pakistan, Gulf countries and other countries. He also asked a question about what kind of assistance is being provided to the Indian prisoners by the Central government. ....
