Tokyo Olympics: The silver lining to Peter Burling and Blair Tuke's silver medal


Six world championships in the 49er skiff and a gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics have made them the crew to beat.
Add in a double America’s Cup triumphs with Team New Zealand where Burling has risen to be skipper, and they enjoy a profile that few Kiwi athletes can match.
With that comes expectations and the pair carry huge hopes every time they put a foot on a boat.

There is one last chance for a sailing medal on Wednesday as the men s 470 crew of Paul Snow-Hansen and Dan Willcox had a good final day of fleet racing with a sixth and a third. That lifted them to fourth on the table for the medal race featuring the top 10 crews, and they are only six points off a bronze medal
Burling and Tuke went into the medal race with a four point lead on the table. They ended on the same points as Great Britain after the medal race which had double points on offer, but the British won the tie-breaker by virtue of finishing ahead of the Kiwis in the race that mattered most. ....
