Madison Buffalo Jump State Park proposal on trail rehabilitation after record visits

THREE FORKS, Mont. – Record visitation to state parks during the pandemic has sped up erosion specifically at Madison Buffalo Jump State Park causing officials to make a proposal to reroute and revegetate trails.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) completed an environmental analysis in February and is asking for public comment on the proposal to remove steep grades, restore native vegetation and clearly define the trail system to discourage off-trail travel.
In 2020, there was a record 3.4 million Montana resident and non-resident visitors to Montana State Parks, an increase of 30% over 2019.
BOZEMAN, Mont. - Yellowstone National Park reported 3.8 million visitors in 2020, a 5% decrease from 2019 while Montana State Parks had record visits up 29.5% from 2019. ....

'Wipeout' Returns 'Bigger, Bolder, Edgier' — and Funnier, Thanks to Its New Hosts | Arts & Entertainment

After delays due to COVID, host and executive producer Jeff Probst says he is pumped.
The hosts are also new — John Cena and Nicole Byer, with Camille Kostek on the field — and that “serious A-list talent changes the whole feel of the show,” Kunitz says. “We’re living vicariously through their eyes as viewers. It’s brought a completely different comedic tone to the show.”
Perhaps the biggest changes over the years has to do with changing technologies, says Kunitz. “GoPro cameras didn’t really exist,” Kunitz reminds us. “To have a POV [point-of-view] camera — and one that would work underwater — we were looking at these medical-grade cameras that were not used for filming television shows.” ....

Hate Crime Charges For Attack On Asian Woman
04/01/21 AT 12:27 PM
The male suspect arrested for assaulting an Asian American woman in New York City will face felony hate crime charges.
Brandon Elliot, 38, was on parole for
fatally stabbing his mother when he attacked 65-year-old Vilma Kari, spouting racist rhetoric. Prosecutors have now charged him with two counts of second-degree assault and one count of attempted first-degree assault, The Washington Post reports.
His maximum sentence is 25 years, in addition to other punishments for parole violations.
Elliot is accused of attacking Kari without apparent provocation Monday, kicking the woman to the ground on her way to church before stomping her head as onlookers watched passively. He hinted that the attack could be racially motivated beforehand, allegedly telling her “you don’t belong here.” ....
