Jason Johns selected as new superintendent for school district two


The Anderson County School District Two Board of Trustees has selected Jason Johns to be the district s new superintendent.
The board voted unanimously for Johns during their board meeting on Monday, April 19. Johns will be working with interim superintendent Don Andrews for a few weeks before officially starting his new position on July 1.
“The board is confident that Mr. Johns will serve Anderson Two well, Chair Member Jimmy Ouzts said in a social media post.  We are excited to move forward to do what is best for the education of our students.”
“I am so excited to join the Anderson Two family, Johns said in a social media post. It is a district rich in fine arts, academic and athletic achievements. I consider myself very fortunate to join the tradition of this fine school district.” ....

ROCK HILL, S.C. (WBTV) - Four victims of the York County mass shooting were laid to rest in Rock Hill Wednesday afternoon.
Dr. Robert Lesslie, Barbara Lesslie, Adah Lesslie and Noah Lesslie were honored in a memorial service at West End Baptist Church in Rock Hill Wednesday.According to an obituary posted in The Herald, Dr. J. Barry Dagenhard and Reverand John Oliphant are officiating the service.
The memorial service was also streamed online. ....

YORK COUNTY, S.C. (WBTV/AP) - The gunman who killed five people, including a prominent doctor, his wife, their two grandchildren and a worker, was a former NFL pro Phillip Adams, the Associated Press reports.
Adams died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, deputies said. Adams left information at the scene and they were able to identify him, according to officials.
The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on Marshall Road.
Dr. Robert Lesslie, 70 (pictured below), his wife, Barbara Lesslie, 69, and their grandchildren, Adah Lesslie and 5-year-old Noah Lesslie, were killed in the shooting. Deputies say the family members were found in the back room dead with gunshot wounds. Adah Lesslie and Noah Lesslie lived on the property with their parents, Robert Lesslie’s son and daughter-in-law. ....
