'Steward of the Land': Missouri Farmer Foresees Successful 2021

WATSON, Mo. Trey Garst hops into his black Chevy pick-up truck at 8 a.m. on a Thursday morning. Heavy metal blares from his speakers as he sips water out of his large silver thermos.
“Most people think because you’re a farmer that you like country music,” Garst says. “I like metal.”
He talks about Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, while pulling out his phone to play a YouTube video of the singer’s “Wicked Game” cover.

That has been the unwavering stance of KC Regional Housing Alliance President Stacey Johnson-Cosby from the beginning of the pandemic and throughout the resulting rental crisis.
In December 2020, Congress allocated $25 billion for emergency rental assistance. About $600 million of that money has now made its way to Kansas and Missouri. The KC Regional Housing Alliance is working with United Way and other organizations to show renters and landlords how to ....

Glen Carbon man faces aggravated DUI charge

Andrew J. Bridges, 32, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence, a Class 2 felony.
The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
According to court documents, on March 13 Bridges allegedly was driving a 2013 Volkswagon Passat while under the influence of alcohol. It was noted that he had a conviction or court supervision for related crimes in 2007 and 2012.
Bail was set at $25,000.
Other felony charges filed March 15 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:
• Billy J. Clark, 40, of Hartford, was charged with offenses relating to motor vehicles and unlawful possession of an altered license plate, both Class 2 felonies, and forgery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. According to court documents, on March 13 Clark allegedly was found to b ....
