OAKLAND The Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center held its 10th annual One in Five 5K run on Sunday, with virtual and in-person options for runners.
This year’s race was especially meaningful because the COVID-19 pandemic forced last year’s event to be entirely virtual. ....

Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center's 10th Annual 1 in 5 5K

We had the opportunity to speak with Donna Strickler of the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center s upcoming One in Five 5K. Obviously because of current health circumstances things will be looking a little different this year, though they still need your support now more than ever.
The run will take place on Sunday, April 25th at First Park in Oakland and will kickoff at 9 AM. Due to COVID, they will be observing all social distancing guidelines to insure a COVID friendly event. There is also the option to do a virtual run and run at your own pace and location. ....

On Sunday, April 25, The Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center is hosting a hybrid race along with their annual ‘One in Five 5K!’
Get your team together and
Race for the One. The event is inspired by the current Maine statistic of an estimated ONE in FIVE people in the state that have been affected by sexual violence.
The 10th Annual One in Five 5K will be at FirstPark in Oakland at 9:00am. There is also a virtual option, as they are committed to making this a COVID safe event and will be observing social distancing, masks.
100% of the proceeds benefit the Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center and its services for survivors of sexual abuse. A fully staffed and highly trained Sexual Assault Support-line is available 24 hours a day, Support groups, justice system advocacy, school-based prevention education, and Children’s Advocacy Center are all provided free of charge to the members of the Kennebec and Somerset counties’ communities i ....
