Norwegian architects have had a whale of a time designing this new marine museum.
The Whale museum in Adenes is the brainchild of Danish architectural studio Dorte Mandrup, and it s Beached Az . Taking inspiration from the massive marine mammals, the building is formed from a single concrete shell like the humped back of a whale.
From shore it looks as though a leviathan has beached itself on the coast, while from the many whale-watching vessels at sea, it resembles a massive tail. ....

Send us animal droppings, the Mammal Society has said, as scientists warn hedgehogs and voles may be eating plastic.
Small mammals are thought to be chewing on plastic dropped as litter or left in landfill, which could be damaging their survival chances and creating harmful microplastics.
As part of the study Emily Dempster has already analysed 70 samples collected from wildlife centres under a microscope, 15 of which appeared to contain plastic. ....

Scientists find new promising antibodies against novel coronavirus

Scientists have identified and further developed novel antibody fragments from llamas and alpacas that can be used against the SARS CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19.
These nanobodies identified by an international team led by the University of Bonn in Germany are smaller than classic antibodies.
They can penetrate the tissue better and can be produced in larger quantities.
The team also combined the nanobodies into potentially effective molecules attacking different parts of the virus simultaneously.
The approach, described in the journal Science, could prevent the pathogen from evading the active agent through mutations.
Antibodies are an important weapon in the immune system s defence against infections. ....
