With many questions still surrounding the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, Palo Pinto County officials are desperately reaching out for help to get more.
“We’ve been working, reaching out to anybody we can to try to find out about getting more vaccine and I hope you all realize the shortage that there is nationwide,” Palo Pinto County Judge Shane Long said at this week’s commissioners court meeting. “I was on a conference call with the department of emergency management and also the department of state health services last week and this week I think we’re supposed to be getting 332,000 doses for the entire state of Texas, which when you’re talking about 29 million people is not much.” ....

Over 2,000 receive first dose in Parker County vaccinations; 83 now fully vaccinated

As of Thursday, Parker County had 2,014 in phases 1A and 1B who had received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 83 who have now been fully vaccinated.
“Currently, medical personnel, first responders, people over the age of 65 and those with certain chronic medical conditions that put them at increased risk of severe COVID-19 disease are being vaccinated,” Parker County Health Authority Dr. Steven Welch said. “Specifically, as directed by Texas DSHS, we are vaccinating [Phase] 1A and 1B groups at this time.”
According to the dashboard on the Texas Department of State Health Services website, in Palo Pinto County, 228 people had been given the first dose of the vaccine with two people fully vaccinated as of Thursday.  ....

Parker County locations set to receive COVID-19 vaccine

The Texas Department of State Health Services rolled out its Week 2 recipients of the COVID-19 vaccine, which includes six locations in Parker County.
“Texas expects to receive 620,400 doses of COVID-19 vaccine distributed to more than 1,100 providers in 185 Texas counties in Week 2 of vaccine distribution,” according to DSHS. “The [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] will deliver 460,500 doses of the vaccine manufactured by Moderna and 159,900 doses of the Pfizer vaccine to continue to vaccinate front-line health care workers and residents of long-term care facilities.” ....
