The proposed plans will see a popular dog walking spot on Culverhouse Drive that is an essential asset to the local community lost to two four bed and one five bed houses. The land has already been targeted twice by the developer, Masterfreight, but both applications were withdrawn due to the loss of green space. A section of the land is regarded as a Potential Site of Importance and the area of woodland on the site is part of the Black Country Urban Forest Programme. Tributes paid to popular former teacher at Derry primary school John Flood remembered for his wit and good nature John Flood. ); John Flood, a former teacher and vice-principal at Rosemount Primary School, passed away on Wednesday. Mr Flood worked at the local school from 1963 to 2002. Current principal of Rosemount Primary School, Paul Bradley, said it was with great sadness that everyone associated with the school had learned of Mr Flood s death. John was a very popular member of the Rosemount teaching staff (1963 - 2002) and indeed his association with the school has continued long after his retirement with grandchildren now attending. ....
