Eagle County Schools hires Beau Wielkoszewski as Chief Technology Officer

Eagle County Schools has hired Beau Wielkoszewski to fill the position of chief technology officer.
The position has remained open for most of the school year, with Assistant Superintendent Katie Jarnot serving as interim chief technology officer while the district conducted its search.
Wielkoszewski comes to Eagle County from the Bigfork School District in Montana where he has served as the direct of technology since 2017. Previously, Wielkoszewski worked in IT positions for the United States Department of State and the United States Army.
“We’re extremely excited to have Beau join our team,” said Philip Qualman, superintendent of Eagle County Schools. “It’s not everyday that you find a candidate who has worked with technology at his level in nuclear submarines, diplomatic services and education.” ....

In the 1970s, if you had a medical emergency in Bigfork, you were likely in for a long wait while the ambulance crew from Kalispell made its way south. For some residents, waiting wasn t an option, and without a doctor in town, they d head to Dr. Doug Smith s dental practice for help.
A dentist by trade, Smith also had some training in general medicine, learned in part through dental school, followed by an internship in the emergency room at Denver General Hospital. He d patch them up as best he could, but a series of unfortunate events led Smith to wonder if he could do more. ....

David T. Davis
Ann is mourning the death of her beautiful husband, David T. Davis of Solway Twsp. He died Dec. 13, 2020 at St. Marys Hosp. in Duluth after ten days of fighting the Covid-19 virus.
David was born in Bigfork, MN on January 26, 1936 to the late Florence and George Davis.
He graduated from Bigfork high school in 1954. During his teen years he worked at his dad’s lumber mill and the Jirik potato farm. He enlisted in the army in 1955 and was sent to Germany in the fall of 1956. While there he met his future wife, Anna A.
Upon returning to Minnesota, David began his career with the Forest Service, retiring in 1985 after 26 years. During this time, he and his family gradually started a milk dairy - retiring from that in 1998. ....
