The craft beer and barbecue movements in Texas have grown hand in hand over the past decade. Despite the similar devotion of their fans and dedication of their practitioners, however, they haven’t exactly had a symbiotic relationship but for the occasional barbecue truck parked outside of a brewery. San Antonio’s Granary ’Cue & Brew, which opened in 2012, received national acclaim for its handcrafted beers and barbecue before closing in 2019. ST. LOUIS A Florissant man was sentenced to five years in prison and ordered to pay nearly $800,000 after using multiple fake IDs and fraudulent bank accounts and credit cards to defraud a charity and other victims.
Brandon Harper, 36, was sentenced to 60 months in prison after admitting to using fake IDs and credit cards to defraud his victims out of more than $500,000, a press release from the U.S. Attorney of Eastern Missouri. ....

ST. LOUIS (AP) A Florissant man was ordered to pay nearly $800,000 and sentenced to five years in prison for a fraud scheme, federal officials said.
Brandon Harper, 36, admitted using fake IDs and credit cards to defraud victims out of more than $500,000, the U.S. Attorney for Eastern Missouri said in a news release.
The investigation began when police stopped Harper for a traffic violation and found several passports and IDs under different names, along with credit cards issued to other people and $15,000 in Amazon gift cards and cash.
During the investigation, officials discovered someone had diverted $400,000 in payments from a Catholic charity. Video showed Harper using a fake identification to withdraw $222,000 and put it in an account he controlled, prosecutors said. ....
