ACE will run Valley Link rail system
Valley Link, the proposed commuter rail project that would connect the Northern San Joaquin Valley with the 131-mile BART system with 50 stations throughout the Bay Area, will be operated by the same agency that runs the Altamont Corridor Express.
The Tri-Valley-San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority has entered into an agreement for the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission to operate Valley Link that is working toward a 2028 start-up date. The SJRRC also manages the Amtrak San Joaquin.
The Valley Link system ultimately means commuters in Ceres, Modesto, Ripon, and Manteca could get go all the way to downtown San Francisco via ACE with transfers to Valley Link and BART. Lathrop commuters could take Valley Link and switch to BART. ....

Constituents are calling for Anoka County Commissioner Matt Look to resign or be stripped of leadership duties and one colleague is pitching a new code of ethics after allegations that Look harassed a resident.
Also, another woman has come forward with accusations similar to those of Danylle Peardon, who said she became afraid for her safety after Look harassed her in texts and suggested he knew where she lived. Peardon brought her allegations, first reported in the Star Tribune, to county leaders and local law enforcement last month. ....

Livermore, CA, December 29, 2020 – At their December Board meeting, the Tri-Valley–San Joaquin Valley Regional Rail Authority voted to enter into an arrangement with the San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (SJRRC) to manage the operation of future Valley Link commuter rail service connecting the Tri-Valley with the San Joaquin Valley. The SJRRC has served as the policy-making body for the Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) service for more than 20 years and took a similar action at their December Board meeting.

The Regional Rail Authority Board noted a number of reasons why the Memorandum of Understanding with SJRRC was advantageous for the Valley Link project, including an exemplary safety record in managing the operations of both the ACE commuter rail service for over 20 years and the Amtrak San Joaquins for over 7 years. ....
