The British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Ben Llewellyn-Jones, has commended Nigerians for their perseverance and resilience despite the numerous challenges they have been facing in the past year.

Llewellyn spoke at the Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) reception in honour of its newly-elected President, Abimbola Okoya, during the association’s presidential cocktail in collaboration with the British Deputy High Commission in Nigeria tagged: “The Big I.D.E.A,” held in Lagos.

Okoya Emerges N-BA's First Nigerian Female President

The immediate past Secretary of the Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA), Abimbola Okoya has emerged as the first Nigerian female President of the Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA).
This followed an election conducted during the 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association, held over the weekend in Lagos.
Okoya who was unopposed at the elections would be taking over from the immediate past President of the association, Shola Tinubu, after successfully completing his tenure.
In his outgoing speech, Tinubu expressed pleasure in seeing a steady progress within the association and other fronts.

The Deputy British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Ben Llewellyn-Jones has restated the countryâs commitment to Nigeriaâs rich cultural heritage and her creative industries, in further enhancing the Nigerian-British relationship.
He made this remarks recently at a private performance by the Lagos Theatre Festival organised by the Nigeria-Britain Association (N-BA) in conjunction with the Lagos Theatre Festival, at the residence of the British Deputy High Commissioner
