Valerie Jordin to speak at Bridport Camera Club event | Bridport and Lyme Regis News

BRIDPORT residents can hear a talk from a US photographer, free of charge.
Bridport Camera Club has been hosting Zoom talks throughout the lockdowns and in doing so has managed to increase the range of its guest talkers. The group has held meetings with both local guest speakers and those who would not be able to come to Bridport in person.
The club s next event on Wednesday, April 28 will see Valerie Jordin, a New York based photographer, speaking to attendees about her career.
A spokesman for Bridport Camera Club said: We’re expecting a really interesting evening. Valerie is an engaging speaker and has lots of tips and ideas about how to achieve your own vision in photography. ....

Bridport Camera Club runs series of March events | Bridport and Lyme Regis News

The group has published its programme for spring 2021, which includes its upcoming events up to May.
The camera club has been hosting events virtually in recent months as a result of the third national lockdown.
Three events will take place in March, beginning with a club competition which will see members photographs of food judged by Lara Jane Thorpe on Wednesday, March 3.
This will be followed up two weeks later on Wednesday, March 17 with a nature photography competition, judged by wildlife artist and photographer, Richard Symonds.
The month s events conclude with an evening in memory of the club s founder, David Barnikel, who died in 2018. The event, which will take place on Wednesday, March 31, will feature input from club members. ....

BRIDPORT Camera Club is continuing to operate online.
The group has been meeting virtually in recent months so no changes will need to be made as a result of the recently-announced lockdown.
The next event will take place on Wednesday, January 20 and will feature a talk from photographer Chris Hilton on contemporary travel photography, as the tagline says it s not all about sunsets and selfies .
An annual membership costs £30 or alternatively you can pay £3 per session. All meetings are being held via Zoom until further notice is given.
