Radio and television presenter Jonathan Coleman has died aged 65, following a four-year battle with prostate cancer.
In a statement on Saturday, Coleman’s family confirmed “with the heaviest of hearts” that the father and husband died peacefully on Friday night with his wife and children by his side.

Beloved Australian radio presenter and television personality Jonathan Jono Coleman has died, aged 65, after a four-year battle with prostate cancer.
Born in Hackney in the UK, Coleman won many fans and accolades during a long and varied career in both Australia and Britain.
He first burst into the world of broadcast in 1979 as part of the original line-up of Simon Townsend s Wonder World, and two years later started presenting radio show Off The Record with Ian Dano Rogerson.
Most recently, he was a presenter on Studio 10.
In the four decades in between, Coleman s voice could be heard on the BBC s airwaves, as a narrator of a children s TV show, in several musical comedy singles, and on stage in musical theatre productions. ....

Family have confirmed he lost his four year battle with prostate cancer last night, surrounded by his family Margot, and children Oscar (27) and Emily (24).
“Jono and I have been soulmates for close to 40 years. We have been fortunate to live a rich and wonderful life and I have been lucky enough to watch up-close someone with enormous talent and the special gift to make people laugh,” said Margot Coleman, Jono’s wife.

Saturday racing returns to Caulfield following the Australia Day meeting on Tuesday.
The track played fairly that day but there are a few unknowns today with the rail out 9 metres and a fair bit of rain around Melbourne providing us with a Soft 5.
A little bit more rain is forecast (is there really BOM?) but hopefully it doesn’t wreak too much havoc with the track.
