LDWF Agents Cite Two Subjects for Illegal Oyster Harvest in Terrebonne Parish Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries enforcement agents cited two men for alleged oyster violations on Jan. 4 in Terrebonne Parish. Agents cited Webb Verdin, 41, and Trinity Bergeron, 25, both from Houma, for taking oysters from a polluted area. Agents received a complaint of illegal oyster harvest in Bayou Sevin, which is next to Hwy. 56 in Terrebonne Parish and currently closed to oyster harvest because it has been deemed polluted by the Louisiana Department of Health. LDWF agents responded and deployed a drone and videoed the subjects actively harvesting oysters in a polluted area. ....
January 13, 2021 George Edward Wyatt Jr. “Sonny, Ed,” 83, of Rehoboth Beach passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, surrounded by his wife and children. He was born Feb. 2, 1937, in Lewes, son of the late George Edward Sr. and Edna Wyatt. Ed was a family man and a great friend who meant a lot to everyone who knew him. He touched many lives throughout his life and his memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him. Ed graduated from Lewes High School in 1955, where he was the class president. He proudly served with the Pilots’ Association for the Bay & River Delaware for 44 years. In addition to his career as a river pilot, Ed was involved for many years in various Boy Scout activities. He was an Eagle Scout himself, later became a Scout Master, and spent many nights camping with his troop locally and all the way to National Jamboree. Ed enjoyed his woodworking projects which often involved his children and grandchildren. H ....
