Staff Report Ascension Parish Public Schools announced the school and district winners of its Support Personnel of the Year for 2020-21: Kim Harvey from Lakeside Primary is the Primary School Support Person of the Year, Marcus Jones from Dutchtown Middle is the Middle School Support Person of the Year, and Alison Clingfost from Dutchtown High is the High School Support Person of the Year. All support personnel were selected by their respective school peers and were recognized at this week s Ascension Parish School Board Meeting. mcschools.net BATON ROUGE, La. – Today the Louisiana Department of Education released the names of 21 students selected as finalists in the state’s annual Students of the Year competition. The 21 students selected include one elementary, middle and high school student from each of the state’s seven regions. The finalists represent traditional public, public charter and nonpublic schools. The finalists will participate in a virtual ceremony on April 21, when the winners will be announced for each grade level. “I’m proud of each of these finalists and would be honored to have any of them represent us as a Louisiana Student of the Year,” said State Superintendent of Education Dr. Cade Brumley. “Their achievements and hard work are proof that Louisiana’s children are as capable as any in the nation.” Public and nonpublic schools were asked to submit one candidate from their student body. ....
Staff Report Ascension Public Schools announces the Teachers of the Year and Principals of the Year for 2020-21. These top educators were selected by their respective school peers. In the spring, all honorees will be recognized at an Ascension Parish School Board meeting, where the district will name a top teacher for primary, middle, and high school divisions. The district honorees will go on to compete for the state s 2022 Teacher and Principal of the Year section in the summer. Teacher of the Year is quite an honor, and all of these wonderful educators deserve this special recognition.
