Man draws penises over potholes to force gov't to fix roads faster

AUCKLAND (ANN): A man has been drawing penises over potholes to force the government to fix the roads faster in the city of Auckland in North Island, New Zealand.
Geoff Upson, a road safety campaigner, shared that police actually contacted him last week after a civilian had complained about his penis drawings, as per
The New Zealand Herald on May 4.
He has since admitted to being the man behind the graphic drawings and was told that police would work with Auckland Transport (AT) on the matter.
Upson shared that he has so far made around 100 drawings over problem areas since as early as 2018, when he made his first penis drawings on a road near his home in Waitoki. ....

Woman who rejected Covid-19 vaccine urged public to get vaccinated before she died

MONTREAL, CANADA (ANN): A woman who previously refused to get vaccinated against Covid-19 urged the public to get a shot just a few hours before succumbing to the virus in Montreal, Canada.
Gisele Beaudoin, a singer from Quebec, died due to Covid-19 last Sunday, May 2, as per CTV News the next day. Her sister Monic shared Gisele’s last message via Facebook on Saturday, hours before her death.

Roller coaster stops mid-ride, forces passengers to walk down

LONDON (ANN): Theme park visitors in England surely got some unexpected thrill when the roller coaster they were riding got stuck, leaving them to walk hundreds of feet back to the ground.
The tourists got stuck at the summit of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s The Big One, which is the tallest roller coaster in the United Kingdom. Park staff were forced to go up the roller coaster themselves and guide visitors to safety by making them walk down the ride, as per Lancashire Telegraph on April 25.

Two men who sold fire extinguishers as oxygen tanks arrested

DWARKA, INDIA (ANN): Two men in Dwarka, India were arrested for allegedly selling fire extinguishers as oxygen cylinders for Covid-19 patients.
Police identified the suspects as 19-year-old Ashutosh Chauhan and 22-year-old Ayush Kumar, The Indian Express reported on Thursday, April 29. Five fire extinguishers were confiscated by authorities following the arrest.
Chauhan and Kumar allegedly marketed the fire extinguishers to families of people with Covid-19 amid a surge of deaths in the country. Each cylinder was sold for ₹10,000 (RM551).
The fraudulent sales were discovered after one Geeta Arora claimed that the men sold her the fire extinguishers for her relative’s breathing problems. ....
