Plano students win top honors in all-girls computer programming competition
Three Plano students will receive paid internships as a result of their first-place finish.

Plano students took top honors in a recent Digital Divas 2021 competition. The computer programming competition and workshop designed to introduce more girls to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields.
The all-girls programming contest and workshop featured students in grades six through 12 and included more than 300 students and teachers from a total of 47 middle schools and high schools from across the region.
The Feb. 13 virtual competition was presented by the Dallas Fort Worth Computer Science Teachers Association. ....

Texas Teachers Not Prioritized for COVID-19 Vaccine

“Teachers should be a priority because we have to go to school, and kids have to go to school,” he said. “We’re on the frontlines. We’re in crowded schools. Every time we get quarantined, our instruction gets weaker, and other people have to pick up the slack.”
